Professional Background
David Paulus is a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Human Factors Engineer (CHFEP), and licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Arkansas. He was the lead engineer developing the Controlled Resistance Exercise Device (C-RED) for NASA to maintain bone density and muscle mass during spaceflight. Dr. Paulus has worked in manufacturing at Eagle Bend, Mfg. and Colorado State University’s Industrial Assessment Center where he improved productivity and energy efficiency for Colorado manufacturers. He has experience in research and development at Woodward Governor Company and National Recovery Technologies and HVAC design experience with EDM Consultants and Endecon Engineering. He served as an industrial consultant for Therma-Tru doors developing processes to improve productivity, as well as reduce repetitive motion injuries for workers on a fiberglass-door assembly line. Dr. Paulus also serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Online Engineering Education.
