PULLMAN, Wash. – James R. Holt, professor of engineering and technology management at Washington State University, received the Robert E. Fox “The Race to Excel” Lifetime Achievement Award at the Fifth Annual Continuous Process Improvement Symposium at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

The award is given for continual dedication and contribution to improving processes involving industries, organization, services and individuals.

Holt was recognized for numerous achievements, including his long-standing contributions as the department head of engineering and environmental management at the Air Force Institute of Technology, his impacts on international education and his support of professional students in industry around the world.

Holt is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). He serves on the faculty of Goldratt Schools, on the board of directors for the Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization (TOCICO) and on the board of advisors for Neuland Labs.

He has published more than 150 articles and has guided more than 100 theses, dissertations and masters projects.
